We take the same precautions that we do - voluntarily, and without hysteria

good, vaccines then! Can the anti-vaxxers please take note!

Let me understand, we are not to use lockdowns to limit the spread of the virus, and we are not to use vaccine to limit the spread of the virus, and we are not to use Test & Trace to limit the spread of the virus. Is there anything we can try to limit the spread of the virus?

We take the same precautions that we do - voluntarily, and without hysteria - when there is a virulent flu virus around.

Are you suggesting there would be enough voluntary precautions, without formal restrictions?

The UK policy is both.
Irrational, illogical but thats what it is.

The plan is to see lockdown + vaccinations+ whateverelseisgoingon, and then cease with the interventions when things look better.

you're not free!

Your freedom is not dependent on taking the vaccine, but your safety will be massively helped by lots of other people doing so.

I just hope we don't get too many public health freeloaders who are made safe by others who take the vaccine.

The key issue is: freedom of choice. Nobody should be compelled nor coerced into having the vaccine. It's part of a longstanding medical ethics tradition that people have the full right to refuse medical intervention without fear of negative consequences.

People should merely be presented with clear facts and full transparency around the vaccines, and be allowed to make their own choice.

You can use whatever you like to control a virus. This website is surely about lockdown scepticism and the impact on our freedoms. To make that freedom conditional on a vax with emergency approval?! I feel like either I'm insane or everyone else is!

You're right. Don't get me wrong: vaccines can play an important role in tackling the virus, but like you say, our freedom should not be conditional on it.

There are smart precautions we can take (consider the Swedish model and ideas around 'focused protection') while maintaining our freedoms.
