they drastically reduce the body count...

That's good enough, better than lockdowns.

The UK policy is both.
Irrational, illogical but thats what it is.
Not only can nobody die but nobody can be infected. Ever.

yes, it must be vaccines OR lockdown, not lockdowns AND vaccine.s

FFS, I really do wish you knew the difference between the basic boolean logical operators.
So I'm done spoon feeding you kid, you're on your own from here, I done my best for you.

Hmmm. You're not really grasping the point jmc is making.

You read it all?

When I finally reached the end of his post, I realised it had no point, just plenty of bluff and bluster.
Furthermore, as jmc pointed out, what about sampling errors?

The trial protocols are known to the FDA / HMRA and they have to be satisfied that the sample is satisfactory. So I still do not know jmc's point, his original complaint was that the trials were not long enough , has he changed to grumbling about sampling? That's a separate matter. Anyway the trials used very large groups so the data could be acquired in a shorter span. I don't know what jmc's game is. He's just a nuisance.

You really dont understand this do you? Its quite simple.
The government plan for this from now on is vaccines AND lockdowns.

Its not one or the other. They've stated categorically many times that once the people who need vaccination are vaccinated, we'll STILL have restrictions.

You clearly havent listened to or read a single statement by anyone in control of policy over the last few months.
We're not getting normal life back once the vulnerable are vaccinated. They've made it clear they're not even considering that.

The Oxford/ZA trials were utterly farcical.
Look at the confidence intervals on all the data.

The FDA in the USA has refused to authorise it at all without a repeat of Phase 3.
The Swiss regulator has refused to authorise it at all without more data from either use elsewhere and/or this Phase 3.
8 other countries have refused to authorise it for over 65s or over 55s due to lack of data.

It was a shockingly complicated, mismanaged trial by a company that it shows has never run a vaccine programme before.

I don't want to change the subject, we were referring to the Pfizer results.
