Yes.I'm not as cynical. What happened is: they consulted the science and it leaked (from Vallance) that they might experiment with Herd immunity (the leak did happen)

Leak?! How is something said in a press conference on national television a leak?
FWIW its also directly what our, the ECDC and WHO pandemic plan called for. Completely following the procedures and script.

and the media went wild, causing an instinctive denial and reverse ferret by the government and its advisers. After that, they were pressed into lockdown in a political vice. One exaggeration/panic led to another iteration and we arrived here. To be fair, the true infection fatality ratio only came out after a long time so the problem came on slowly. They believe they had no other option but to gamble as they did and put their money on lockdown. Yes, in the cold light of hindsight, a cock up but they fear admitting it due to sunk cost fallacy. They'll press on the the end now whether we riot or not. The die is cast.

I'm on your side. For the sake of our children, everyone over 50 should get jabbed.

Why?
Give each person the choice of what element of risk they wish to expose themselves to.
You know, treat adults like adults.

website is surely about lockdown scepticism and the impact on our freedoms. I feel like either I'm insane or everyone else is! ... My safety will be fine regardless.

Could you please refrain from quoting me if you are going to edit the quote. I see you've not done too much but it crosses a line in my eyes, dirty tactics. My actual post was -

No.
That's what an ellipsis means you mug. omission from ... writing of a word ...that are superfluous...

<omitted before it got too banal, since it is already in the thread>

Not all people on this site are true sceptics.

It's right, only a true sceptic could show his scepticism toward his scepticism. The truth about lockdown is banal. A bunch of Posh chumps made the wrong call on a big Global issue, got caught in the jaws of a political vice, and did not have enough humility to turn back so they took the whole world along for the walk. It's happened before: there's even an old drinking song about it.

Oh, the grand old Duke of York
He had ten thousand men
He marched them up to the top of the hill
And he marched them down again
And when they were up, they were up
And when they were down, they were down
And when they were only half-way up
They were neither up nor down
...
