I read them all and listen only to podcasts that interest me. Most definately the bribe factor plays a huge part in my opinion.

Definitely, some people have no concience. Some people are psychopaths / sociopaths and can only care about themselves. They will take bribes easily and sell out their country, but probably will be short sighted so will take the bribe even if ultimately they will serve no further purpose.
I know saying that will make me sound like a swivel-eyed conspiracy theorist. Unfortunately I learned the hard way with a decade of my life pissed away trying to excuse the unecuseable with an ex that this type of person exists.
The biggest mistake anyone can make is assuming that all humans minds work the same. From experience there are several ways of segmenting people, and the first distinction is if they have a conscience.

I dont think that makes you a conspiracy theorist .I think your scepticism is questioning this crap with your eyes wide open and trying to comprehend how money power and greed comes first. For many of us kindness and caring about our fellow human beings comes first. Those who sell us out will reap their rewards and just deserts..money does not buy happiness ( it does help when I am skint though 😊);. Once these people have served their purpose
They will be surplus to requirements..some chose not to sell out their country despite the bribes..
