I just got a text message from my doctor's surgery saying:
"The Germ Defence project has been endorsed as a national Urgent Public Health Research (UPHR) study by Chris Whitty, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for England. Please follow this link https://www.germdefence.org/index.html if you are interested in participating"
Clicking on the link takes you to a front page that says:
A research study with 20,000 people found:
People who read the advice in Germ Defence are less likely to catch viruses
If they do become ill, the illness is likely to be less severe
Further on, it's basically advising things such as washing your hands, staying away from people and wearing a mask. So far, so predictable. But there were some bits that I found astonishing:
In the section about how to prevent passing covid onto people you live with:
There will be times when your children want a cuddle. If you wear a face-covering and glasses, that will lower the risk of passing viruses between you.
Eating your meals at different times and in different areas will lower the risk of spreading germs. You may still want to be with your children when they eat because of the rist of choking so you could sit in the room with them at a distance of 2 metres/6 feet
If you want to spend time in a room with someone you live with, or a visitor, covering your face will help to reduce the spread of the virus if you cannot be 2 metres apart. And open a window too! This means that you can still spend time with other people in your home. Limiting how long you are in a room with others also helps- the longer you spend together the more viruses could enter your body
Can you organise your room so that you have more space between seats? Is it possible to arrange using shared areas of your home at different times, so that onle one person is there at a time?
Can you arrange for one room in your home to be just for you- and try to spend more time there? This could include eating or sleeping. Opening windows often is an easy way to stop the virus collecting in the air. If it is cold outside, you could open a window in one room if you're planning to spend time there with someone else you live with, or a visitor. Shutting the door to the rest of your home will resuce the amount of heat lost. You could choose a room that is easier to heat up after...
There's a bit about having a safe Christmas at someone else's house where it says you should only stay for an hour and not eat anything. Merry Christmas!
And so many people will likely follow this crap..I intend doing none of it. Complete rubbish based on what scientific evidence. My god how they must be laughing. What a heap of shite..well up yours is my answer to that bollocks..
😀
Ye Gods!
Maybe those virgins we sacrificed to stop the spread of the pandemic were lying about being virgins?
Puddleglum retires speechless.
Sounds like a study where the results will be used to enforce more strict measures.
The obsession with preventing social interaction is chilling.
I think they were puddleglum
😆 😆 😆 😆
