Unfortunately, apart from the bed wetters who are wilfully taking tests, some people don't have a choice. I am a school teacher and all staff and students are required to stay home and book a test if they display symptoms. I am just going to try my best not to fall ill (which is a silly plan I know), however, I might still end up under house arrest because of someone else 😔

Not so silly as it sounds, rubber duck! Try to reduce anxiety and stress. Sit quietly sometimes. Go for occasional walks - in the country or by the sea, if possible. Choose relaxed environments and friends. Eat sensible food. It all helps.
In Bristol, we have about half the national rate and people are happy to live here (according to recent surveys). London was hit badly at the start of the pandemic. It is a stressful place.

Feel for you . Don't lose hope !

Exactly like Mike said. That sounds like a plan and not silliness to try stay healthy. Eat well, sleep well, exercise and don't stress too much. That all helps a lot ! Also if you are a teacher, can you not sit down with the head master and explain to each other few things like:
Yet, nobody proved that covid exists ?
The test does not test for a virus ?
The test should be not used for diagnosis ?
The masks don't work - plenty of evidence, but non which proves that it does work ? The only studies that does say that they might help or that that they help, have done no human trials so their value is below a broken copper coin.
Then you could have a discussion how to make the school looks like it is complying, but it actually won't. Or something in this sense.

Interestingly, there is reason to say that they could do more harm than good. Did you see the video by Ivor Cummins?

He makes the point that exposing ourselves a little this time of year could help our defences in the winter. Paradoxically, the mask designed to act as a prevention could act as a cause.
