Thanks Miahoneybee and Speedstick! Yeah, I suppose they have to open up soon because I think the edifice is starting to fall but I don’t see any want to release on the government’s part at all. That’s the weird thing. It’s almost like they want to keep it going. I’d love some high profile people to get fired and investigated but it never happens and if they are it will just be the usual “advice to lock down early was unheeded”. The best thing they could do for us is to stop testing the healthy and draw a line the sand and say “no more social restrictions”. And have a complete overhaul of the scientists advising them. Sack Whitty is trending on Twitter and has been for months. People do hate them. If the local elections go ahead it will be interesting because people rarely vote for their jailers

I agree again Strange-Cultist there is absolutely no desire whatsoever by the government to end lockdown.
The reason for this is? It is all about control, and fear of loss of control.
Remember firstly those in power throughout time have feared the masses or mob rule.
Until approximately 50 to 100 years ago, those in power were able to use the power and fear of religion to subjugate the masses into compliance, however fear of religion particularly in predominantly Christian countries has dramatically waned. The 2021 UK census predicts less than 50% will state Christianity as their religion, so clearly no fear of non-compliance.
Therefore those in power need another tool to control and subjugate the masses with fear and dread, in order to gain compliance from their subjects, the arrival of Covid has given them an ideal opportunity to control the behaviour, contacts and movements of the masses, via the new religion of Covidism, backed by phoney public health laws.

Would you like the masses to rule or for mob to rule? Do you think a mob could rule better? I think we are better off without mobs ruling.

those in power need another tool to control and subjugate the masses with fear and dread, in order to gain compliance from their subjects,

The public, in general, approve of the covid19 measures, they have no fear or dread of Boris Johnson, he is miles ahead in the polls.

the arrival of Covid has given them an ideal opportunity to control the behaviour, contacts and movements of the masses, via the new religion of Covidism, backed by phoney public health laws.

The virus spreads via contacts and movements of the masses, hence the reason for lockdowns, which are being gradually lifted throughout the UK.

No Fon but then l don't wish my granddaughter to live under a government that rules by psychological warfare either.
Some sensesible balanced policies that would have protected those most vulnerable to Covid without destroying every child's future and every small business would clearly have been preferred.
Of course the Tories are ahead in the polls, the opposition propose even tougher restrictions so where is the choice??
Comply or comply are the only options, it's like a double headed coin!
The public by and large support the measures because if you tell a lie often enough people believe it!!
Psychological Warfare!!!!!!

Agreed, Speedstick. But most practical people in N Wales of my acquaintance despise the Tories, Labour and especially Drakeford and his nasty authoritarina fellow travellers. Few are even bothering with social distancing - they can see through the misinformation.
