You can't claim to be a proper lockdown sceptic and also support things like vaccine passports (as a condition for doing stuff). The two points of view are not compatible.
why would you wonder if some who wonder if lockdowns work is proper? So you think it's not proper to wonder if lockdowns work, or if vaccines work? What is not proper about it?
I never said anything like that. You're deliberately misrepresenting me. The part of my post that you quoted sums up the second part of my post anyway. It is a legitimate point of view to wonder if lockdowns work but I was talking about lockdown sceptics of which this site is supposed to offer some sort of platform to discuss our opinions. I never said that it isn't proper to think that vaccines work, but that's beside the point.
We are supposedly lockdown sceptics, we don't just dislike lockdowns or have "cabin fever" as you've stated before. We are fundamentally opposed to the concept of collectively quarantining everyone on the basis of protection from this virus with a very high recovery rate. The vaccines have only been available to some groups for a few months. The lockdown has existed in some form for nearly a year. Therefore to accept the government way of thinking and expect other people to get a jab, maybe people that don't want or need one, as a way out of this current lockdown is tacitly admitting approval for lockdowns. I'm not against vaccines for those who want them but society shouldn't be held hostage by the vaccination program. If anyone thinks we should all just accept the government's conditions for release they probably approve of lockdowns. Ask yourself, would you rather everyone did their bit and didn't ask too many questions so lockdown could be lifted (still painfully slowly) OR that the government didn't have the power to impose such far reaching restrictions on people's lives in the first place. We can debate semantics all we want but I'm not gonna bother stating why I think lockdowns are bad on a site called lockdownsceptics.org
It is a legitimate point of view to wonder if lockdowns work
I know. Maybe they, maybe they do not?
I never said that it isn't proper to think that vaccines work,
You seemed to be saying that a proper lockdown sceptic should reject vaccines, which would be untrue and silly.
expect other people to get a jab, maybe people that don't want or need one, as a way out of this current lockdown is tacitly admitting approval for lockdowns.
Things are not linked in that way. The jab is safe and effective. Full Lockdowns do at least as much harm as good,
I'm not against vaccines
You have every right to be , it's up to you.
If anyone thinks we should all just accept the government's conditions for release they probably approve of lockdowns.
Things are not linked in that way. Lockdowns and vaccines are orthogonal. You can approve of one, the other, both or neither or have no view. it's up to you.
would you rather everyone did their bit and didn't ask too many questions so lockdown could be lifted (still painfully slowly) OR that the government didn't have the power to impose such far reaching restrictions on people's lives in the first place.
Yes. Since vaccines are very safe and unbelievably effective, I'd obviously rather everyone did their bit AND I want to limit government's powers if possible, as the things are not linked.
I'm not gonna bother stating why I think lockdowns are bad on a site called lockdownsceptics.org
I should have thought this is the correct place to explain why lockdowns are bad.
How dare you! Making a point that an intervention - a so-called 'vaccine' - has been through an abbreviated test procedure and is not yet proven, draws attention to that fact - and that fact alone. Anyone who is circumspect would at least wait and see how it pans out.
I dare because he who lives by the sword must prepare to die by the sword. There are only so many miles of road, before you automatically declare a vehicle to be safe, but there is never a chequered flag. ~ 20 million injections (in the UK alone), and hundreds of years of 'manhours' of experience and science, with few complaints. Hence I dare. Proof is rare and fine in mathematics and logic, adequate certainty is sufficient back in the real world where we actually live.
It's not a case of I'll have a pint of what he's had, it's a pint of the only beer they got which 20 million have already swigged. If there is any danger in this, it's in the 6th or 7th decimal place. A few stupid bedwetters might take alarm at a 0.00002 risk (which is significantly smaller that 0.0023 ifr ) but FFS, get a life, you daft fool.
Spot on strange cultist....
😀
Brilliant post Strange-Cultist l couldn't agree more.
SAGE and the government have used propoganda and psychological warfare on the populace to justify lockdown and other dehumanising NPI's, without any hard data or evidence that these policies were ever required.
The government now want to further extend their emergency Coronavirius Law powers until October, without any justification at all.
Johnson and his cabinet cronies are a totalitarian junta, harming the human rights and future of every living soul in this country.
Something isn't just rotten, it is rotten to the core, and smells of pure unadulterated evil.
