First chart is the current critical care occupancy now compared to 2017/18 when there were last a significant amount of excess winter deaths and pressures on the NHS.
Second chart is the occupancy of general and acute beds comparing the same time periods as above.
No one is arguing that some hospitals and staff are really struggling but the latter part of this year has been no different to other years. Last chart number of trusts at 100% on the 3rd of Jan now and then.
