On the one hand, it feels disgusting to do so. But on the other hand, surely that's the whole point of wearing a mask, to block covid particles escaping.

I asked the internet, and experts assured me,

Dr. Donald Allegra, an infectious disease specialist at Atlantic Health System’s Hackettstown and Newton Medical Centers.:
" Sneezing is a very effective way of spreading the virus far from the person who is sneezing, so it is very important if you do feel a sneeze coming on — if you are in public around other people — that you either keep the mask on or clearly turn away from people around you before sneezing."

Technical Director at the Epidemiology Division of the Ministry of Health(Trinidad and Tobago), Dr Avery Hinds:
"You should not cough or sneeze into your mask, you’re supposed to take the mask off cough or sneeze preferably into a tissue, if tissue isn’t available, into the crook of your arm and then put the mask back on,” he said.
