He doesn't realise that SAGE is not pushing government.
There was a good interview a month ago by a SAGE member (forgot the name) who made a good point.
SAGE role is supposed to be to correlate actual data in a form that a non-expert can understand and evaluate.
They're good at doing that.
What their role does or should NOT involve was to decide policy or a course of action based on that data. He was very uncomfortable in the way SAGE has been used to cornered into actually having to give advice not just data.
So yes, to an extent its the governments misuse of SAGE (to claim to be following "the" science etc) thats the problem here not SAGE itself.
A report from Russian state media with no useful data
Simply isnt true. While some tests use 1 single primer none of the ones authorised or valided for use in most countries do so. They use multiple, very specific primers.
Isnt true.
Is true. Thats why its not used as a standalone single point diagnostic
Is completely and utter nonsense. Every single test has positive and negative controls.
The actual manufacturer data sheets and instructions are freely available as are other public documents.
Each brand of test has exact operating procedures. Again a 5 second google would show that.
There are literally several hundred peer review papers for rtPCR. Its not a new or novel technique. Its been around years.

Regarding the specific PCR test that is being used for the mass test programme, Mike Yeadon says:
This is a good moment to mention that the PCR test protocol for SARS-CoV-2, which everyone in the world is now using, was invented in the lab of Prof Drosten in Berlin. The scientific paper in which the method was described was published in January 2020, two days after the manuscript was submitted. One of the authors of the paper is on the editorial board of the journal that published it. There is concern that this extremely important article, which contains a PCR test protocol that has been used to run hundreds of millions of PCR tests across the world, including the UK, was not peer-reviewed. No peer review report has been released, despite many requests to do so.
Do you take issue with this?
Key points...
Key points...
Isnt true. Its very good at what it does
The government has admitted it does NOT know the False Positive Rate (FPR).
This is an issue. A bigger issue is most people on here dont know what a false positive IS...
By normal pillar tests this isnt true as symptoms are required for a PCR test. We shouldn't be using it as a single diagnostic (ie testing asymptomatic) but to get a standard pillar PCR test you need symptoms.
Except there is clear evidence exposure is increasing far above the rate of increase of testing.
There are some. Its small but some. It was high in April/May.
Except it hasnt as the very clear increase in exposure is showing.
Yes viruses do waves. However this is still the "first" as we never eliminated it. Its a seasonal virus which shouldnt be a surprise.
(i) this isnt flu
(ii) "typically" is meaningless. New variants come around every year.
Not really, AB testing is so small its insignificant, we arent testing for all antibody responses and its what you'd expect as some population immunity begins to build up.
You seem fond of copy/paste but dont actually understand any of the details.
