I am reminded of a quote by Herman Goering at the end of the war:
"...it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship or a Parliament or a Communist dictatorship.

Polls in the MSM over the last few months suggested widespread public support to further lockdown measures, and, perversely, to even tighter restrictions being imposed. The reality that I'm living in though is showing a different picture, especially as I see the new local and regional 'tiered' lockdowns being imposed across the nation.
I'm beginning to hear more and more dissenting voices. From family and friends ('old-school' traditional types) who typically were of the view that government and scientists *must* surely know best. To the comments that I'm seeing on social media from normally quiet people angry about the new lockdowns (these are people typically affected by the lockdowns) feeling that the lockdowns are unfair and disproportionate.
The fractures in the public's support of the UKGov's lockdown strategy are beginning to show and the cracks will widen further as more people are affected by their measures.
I feel this is an encouraging turning point for us sceptics.
I'd expect that public support for lock-downs etc will downright nose-dive once more folks become aware of the following.

People are still depressingly compliant where I live.
Everybody was masked-up except for me this morning when I was shopping, and there was a distinctly frosty atmosphere in Boots when I popped in for my contact lens solution (not helped by an incomprehensible one-way system - I usually go the wrong way deliberately but on this occasion it was quite by accident).
