Yeah, yeah, I know it will be ignored, but now that London's Red Dwarf has started agitating for face coverings everywhere, it could well be the next cause célèbre of the lockdown zealots, so I thought I'd better do something about. It needs five signatures before it goes public, so please sign it to get it off the ground, for what it's worth: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/568808/sponsors/new?token=pkl_aSX4cTZiIjWIO4Co

There is also this one: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/331174
Some petitions have been rejected because they duplicate this.

I have signed it. Who is London's Red Dwarf? Sounds unpleasant

Sorry, I was referring to all 5ft 5in of Sadiq Khan. He is very unpleasant.

He really is. I watched a clip of David Kurten talking at a anti lockdown protest march recently and I liked what I heard, it filled me with a glimmer of hope for all of about 10 mins

Signed too.

💡 Is there a link to the actual wording of the petition you can provide?

I can't see how to access the main page until the petition gets approved. However, this is its content:

Do not mandate face coverings outdoors

Some powerful but uninformed political agitators are calling for the wearing of face coverings to be mandatory in all public spaces. This is an unscientific and unnecessary approach to curbing the spread of Covid-19, and a further infringement of fundamental human rights. It must not pass into law.

Mandatory face coverings in indoor public spaces purports to 'help stop the spread' of Covid-19. However, the conclusion reached by the largest randomised control trial conducted on the effects of mask-wearing, DANMASK-19, is that masks are not effective in reducing transmission. Some people fear that excessive mask-wearing could carry its own health risks. Also, it is established that the transmission of Covid-19 outdoors is extremely rare, so outdoor use contradicts scientific understanding.

I received this email from Gov. Once I had signed it
