I cannot very well say to my MP, "Don't expect to keep your seat.." because the alternative candidates are likely to be worse.

It's just to get the MP to focus on what's in the best interests of his/her constituents. It doesn't mean that you can't vote them. Besides, there could be any number of alternative candidates by the time the next election rolls around and, besides, there's always the option of spoiling your ballot paper.

Personally I go with a similar tactic, yet word it slightly differently. Picking up on something Yeadon said a while back...

He was referring to many in Government and SAGE, but I feel it can be adapted to most MPs who refuse to take a stand against this nonsense. Yeadon said something to the effect - there are many guilty men, they will have to live with themselves. look at themselves in the mirror. one day these people will [almost certainly] have to look a child or grandchild in the eye...

Perhaps a question to your MP - and when you look a child in the eye, or go to pick up your grandchildren (assuming they are not permanently scarred for life) what will you tell them? That you stood up while the country was being systematically destroyed, and fought for their freedom? or will you tell them you stood by meekly, saying "Yes Prime Minister, Three bags full Prime Minister" and voted to condemn millions to poverty, destitution, homelessness, ill health, and suicide, "but it's OK, we built more Amazon warehouses. and you have zero leisure sector, no entertainment sector, no arts sector, no chance of interacting with human beings most days, but you can buy a virtual reality friend online..."

Instead of saying "I'm not going to vote for you" I'll be asking my MP (again) how they justify the tier & lockdown measures when the entire rationale (ie. PCR test) is NOT fit for this purpose. I'm no lawyer but this sounds absolutely criminal to me.

I wouldn't bet on alternative Candidates being worse in the near future - lots of potential in the pipeline. Laurence Fox is not messing about, neither are David Kurten & his Heritage group. There will be plenty to replace the Labour & Tory clowns, I do believe that.

Indeed - I believe the technique for spoiling a ballot paper is to draw a clear line through all the boxes and write in big letters "NONE". But as Mrs Beeton might have said, "First you must have your election".

The point you mention regarding the PCR test has been borne out in Portugal (apparently, I read what I took to be an extract from a judgement as it wasn't long enough to be the full thing...)

The Court of Appeal in Portugal effectively ruled that the PCR test was not accurate enough upon which to base forced quarantine of one of the individuals concerned.
