Only a small proportion of the population go to nightclubs, but these venues are getting a lot of attention right now in relation to vaccine passports.

Today there is a big story about women getting injected in nightclubs without their permission or knowledge. The next day they find a skin puncture mark and their friends tell them they had been acting strangely the night before. The use of drugs such as rohypnol for date rape does occur, but curiously those who are managing this story are not focusing on actual sexual attacks, nor on what drug has been used, but rather on 1) the need for more door security, and 2) the possible spreading of disease by injection.

My guess is that Sajid Javid will announce in this afternoon's speech (two hours from now) that the government will address both security and the risk of disease spreading in these places (the answer to both issues being "vaccine passports", and quite possibly "vaccine passports PLUS PLUS") and that the coverage of this story is essentially "pre-publicity".

"pre-publicity". otherwise known as hogwash... or, in earlier days scare mongering hogwash.

I fear you may be right. I didn't listen to the speech but I can see that in this story the spin doctors spot a golden opportunity to 'sell' vaccine passports as a means of protecting 'vulnerable' women.

The cynicism and opportunism is sickening.
