Also I tried my first non wearing a mask moment in a takeaway.... Got refused service! 😡 😆 so walked out, they won't be getting my business again.

I used to wear one of those sunflower lanyards but would only have a bit of the ribbon visible and the rest hidden away. It gave me the confidence to walk into places, pretty much unchallenged. Now I don't give it a second thought, just go in.

Most places have at least one or two non-muzzled people in there already and if in doubt, wait and watch for a few moments to see whether others are coming & going without being challenged which should give you more confidence - and conversely other people seeing you unmuzzled may just inspire more to follow suit.

I was waiting outside a takeaway with a non-muzzled friend. A woman came along and was about to attach her rag to her face, saw him inside, and took the thing back off and put it in her pocket. Result!

If there's someone on the door, speaking to them first before they have a chance to challenge you catches them off guard. "Can you tell me where to find...", should do the trick.

Last weekend I went for a walk in a country park. The place was packed and I'd completely forgotten the damn things even existed until I saw one on the ground - which really cheered me up when I realised that I'd seen hundreds of people out walking and not a single one muzzled.

Don't give up!

Slow down save the NHS

WHY NOT? But yes, it slightly adds to the panic narrative. One could also say 'don't get sick now, please save the NHS and chose some other time, e.g 2022?'

Along similar lines, the doctor gave me two weeks to live - so I have taken one for Christmas and one for August bank holiday.

I always thought the NHS was there to protect ME not the other way around - thats why i pay for it.
If i have to save IT instead of the opposite, why should i bother funding it as its clearly not fit for purpose?

CptChaos

I use a mobility scooter.

I threw away my masks 4 weeks ago and I do not wear a lanyard. I just go into shops confidently just like I did before this nonsense started.

Since then I have never been questioned even once, or even had a sceptical face pulled at me, in any shop I have been in, which includes a Mall, Waterstones, Robert Dyas, Morrisons, Iceland, TescoExpress, Sainsbury Local, and also small local privately owned grocery shops.

I assume that it's because I am on the scooter. Which is ridiculous because why would they think having something wrong with your leg means you are exempt?
