Whilst I don’t doubt the legitimacy of the virus, ie it is a new one and it is bad for people that are vulnerable, I do believe it’s been leveraged at every opportunity to put colossal pressure on everyone for another agenda.
In the US is was to create fear to justify the use of postal ballots so fraud to help a coup attempt (which won’t work by the way and DT will be sworn in again) and in the U.K. It was definitely to get us to “give up” or delay BREXIT while we “beat the virus”. As if you can actually do that.
A number of things will happen in the new year now we have exited. And I’m tentatively optimistic on what’s been done.
The main thing that’s going to stop is all the money. And I mean all the money that was going everywhere into our media and probably also local government under loads of different pretexts but was basically bribe money to buy the constant propaganda. (My local council had relentless propaganda that was anti BREXIT, and their remit was to empty the bloody bins and sort the roads. They shouldn’t have a political remit. But they were spending money on it.)
Thats going to stop.
So expect to see media (and hopefully .gov) related redundancies January 1st. It’ll be interesting to see how many and how bad the saturation was.
That’s going to stop. The other thing is that quite quickly as we come into summer, the virus will evaporate naturally as it doesn’t like heat. There are now a lot of levers that could be pulled to get our industry flying. The cost of “fighting covid” is a drop in the ocean compared to what has been and what would have been extracted from us by the EU superstate.
We have our own central bank, the city of london, our own currency and we could basically shrug the cost off and amortise it over 50 years like a war debt while we go on to put policies in place that incentivise huge growth and prosperity.
It doesn’t have to be “settled by more taxes” right now. It could be settled out of reduced taxes levied against the very much improved productivity profitability and affluence that would bring.
That can be done - and Rishi knows it.
Happy Xmas everyone.
