Efforts to get Covid-19 under control and save lives are dependent on preventing dangerous new variants of the virus entering the UK. The UK Government has stated that this may require additional border measures and I know some countries are considering vaccine passports for international travel. However, all decisions must be guided by the latest scientific evidence and I will monitor this closely.

The Government has previously stated that they have no plans to introduce vaccine passports for domestic use. However, I have submitted a Parliamentary Question to the Health Secretary requesting his latest position on this.
