In response to Dr Gary Sidley's article I would add the following reasons...
The drive in the leftist mind to submit to a collective - they seem to hate independence and individuality. Also the higher incidence of people wishing to hide in amongst a group so that they can outsource their responsibility and thinking to others, especially 'superior' elites in a hierarchy.
These are reasons they also, perversely, love the EU so much and hate the UK for daring to leave. And why leftist political ideology and practice so often become totalitarian.
Is Austria left wing?
I've visited Left Lockdown Sceptics occasionally and enjoyed reading their outlook although I haven't 'joined'. They don't seem to regard the breakdown of capitalism as a worthy end goal for this horror show -at least I didn't get that impression.
Maybe they see the disgusting, corrupt capitalist mindset at its worst - as do most of us here.
