Hello,
I'm very angry because the government doesn't seem to be listening. I want to stop wearing a mask in the places where they force you to wear one because I feel like it's my duty to stand up for our liberties and maybe it would be a symbol for others to do the same.
Have other people been doing things like this? It almost seems counterproductive since I assume I would just be repeatedly fined and that it would be like paying the government for their despotism.
I don't think they would believe me if I said I was exempt from wearing a mask and I don't feel like I fall under any of those exempt reasons anyways. Not sure how this works but I assume it wouldn't be possible to refuse to pay the fines and then get thrown in jail instead? they would probably have a way of taking the money from me anyways?
I feel this situation is extremely dire, it feels like we're frogs slowly being brought to the boil, but I'm not sure what to do at this point and I wonder if we will all have to pay dearly before this is all over.
I'm in london and mostly everyone I see is wearing masks and doing what we are told to do.
There are exemptions that people can fit into.its all down to interpretation . Low mood, distress putting a mask on or off ect can all be exemptions . You can get lanyard on the internet for mask exemption..hidden disabilities ect if you dont feel comfortable just saying you are exempt at least if you have one of those it might help. I have one but I have only ever had to use it once.the rest if the time I have said "exempt " and have never been challenged .
😉
It's very easy to avoid the mask rule. The hardest bit is overcoming the psychological pressure. I have never worn a mask it hasn't stopped me from using shops or public transport, although a few jobsworth bus drivers and shop workers have tried to question me.
Firstly, I have never encountered police when on public transport or in a shop. If I did, I would just show them one of these cards I've printed off: https://www.civicmc.nhs.uk/files/2020/06/Face-Covering-Exemption-Cards.pdf
Even without a card, remember that 'severe distress' is a legitimate exemption, and you cannot be made to prove that you have a medical condition. If someone does try to fine you, do not pay it - insist on having your day in court. The case will most likely be thrown at, as the prosecution will not be able to prove that you're not exempt. Many people are not paying their fines, and there is a long list of court cases that won't come to anything.
If you need legal assistance, I would recommend trying Kirsty Brimelow QC, Luke Gittos or Robin Tilbrook.
Good luck.
Hi Randan l believe that you have answered your own question. I feel the anguish and despair in your post, therefore l would say legitimately you don't need to wear a mask as it clearly causes you distress which is itself a legitimate excuse for exemption. We shall overcome this tyranny!
