I read some of Mike Yeadon's tweets today. He said:

"If in nothing else, persuade one neighbour or friend each day. Send to contacts you believe will read it.

Yes. This is one R-number that should be going up.

I never expect anyone to come to my defence on the forum I use which is just as well because no one ever does.

It's sad and depressing. I've been very demoralised.

I've had similar experiences: the stuff from Carl Heneghan and Mike Yeadon and the like is just dismissed - nobody will even discuss it. Then they'll say, oooh, Radio 4 had a wonderful programme that explained how the false positives things was just a load of nonsense - silly old Julia Hartley-Brewer was quite wrong - when they know absolutely nothing about the subject. I've had HuffPost presented to me several times as though it means something.

Beats me why so many people WANT the doom and gloom stuff to be true. You tell 'em we're not all going to die and they shoot the messenger! (Exactly the same thing happens with global warming too, interestingly.)

My husband has very good advice - he says write everything as though you are addressing an invisible reader and not as though you are talking to the annoying old bag. I think that works - the more icily polite I become, the more rabid and irrational people like the annoying old bag become in return. And don't give them ammunition, because if you get personal, they'll fight that rather than the arguments. (I hope I don't sound judgy - I struggle NOT to get personal with some of the idiots on my local FB group - I usually have to compose a message then edit it before I post.)

Today, I watched the Coronavirus Inquiry Committee on BBC Parliament. They were investigating 'lessons learnt' from the coronavirus pandemic. A committee of MPs were questioning only members of SAGE and government-appointed bodies. How on earth can that be any sort of scrutiny at all?

It lasted nearly 3 hours. As a 'lessons learnt' exercise, they may have well packed up after 5 minutes

I know it doesn't seem like it but the public is very slowly beginning to wake from its sleep. Even some MSM is reporting contrarian views on government Covid strategies. The imposition of local and regional lockdowns is accelerating this wake-up.

'Exponentially' is trending, so I hear.
