The arrogance of this Whitty the witless is breathtaking he thinks history will Judge him kindly?
A Whitty should enter the English language to mean someone who says one thing and presents evidence at odds with his own rhetoric.
Yes l agree entirely John, l believe Witty will be viewed in a very poor light in the months and years to come.
The economic and social damage the lockdown will cause to particularly
the very youngest in our society will be immense, (let's not forget the young should be seen as a VULNERABLE group also.) They are kept from playing with friends, both now at home and school, kept in bubbles ( which is sure to create gang culture- l thought the government wanted to end gang culture-) More and more of them will go hungry as their parents unemployment and debt burdens prevent then from nourishing them adequately. This hunger and other aspects of poverty will detrementally affect their short and long term health, shortening their lives. Being excessively shut indoors due to Lockdown, will also prevent them from developing strong immune systems, and further fuel the already epidemic levels of asthma in our young. I could go on and on with a multitude of issues like these. All this to, for the most part save the lives of the already very elderly or very sick individuals from Covid who will have no quality of life anyway as most of them will be IMPRISONED in care homes, unable to have visits from family or friends, i.e. a life of purgatory.
Please Mr.Witty explain the benefit of lockdown to me once again?Furthermore were you not the same person who first highlighted the benefit of 'herd immunity' to the general public, now this term is seen as a 'disgusting' phrase used by sceptics, please explain the U turn!!!!
