Friends or Family in the NHS ?

Hello

Does anyone else have friends or family who work in the NHS who have been behaving oddly ?

In short my Brother in Law works for them doing a certain type of high tech test in a big city hospital. He is a decent guy and I always have a laugh with him at family events. Last time I saw him before the summer Matt Hancock had just ruled that all hospital staff must wear a muzzle at all times. He was angry about this but joked about the uselessness of them for this type of use. I told him I thought I had the bug back in January & he reckoned a lot of people had.

Imagine my surprise then in September when I next saw him and learned he was now a convert to the modern religion of C19 fear. He wears a mask everywhere and chides me in family conversations for saying they are useless. It seems every time he is photographed he wears a bloody mask ! But he also seems genuinely petrified of the virus and believes he (45 ish year old , fit no other health issues) is at risk of dying if he gets it. Sister tells me he is now only doing his normal job one or two days a week. The rest of the time is spent at home or being called into work for interviews where they are assessed for their risk of dying from C19 and given scores to measure that. In addition he may be being sent up to London for a course on incubators which will be needed for the "second wave" which is just weeks away apparently 🙂 I said I thought incubators had been proved to kill more than they cured but just got a funny look for that.

He seems genuinely petrified but at the same time doesn't want to question anything he is being told. Has anyone else seem similar with their friends & family ?

CL

Have you noticed a black chip implanted in his neck?

Hi
I work in the NHS. I haven’t changed apart from feeling more and more angry about everything in and out of work.
My colleagues are all covid 19(84) believers apart from one but even she isn’t as sceptical as me. So the staff haven’t changed either, they just say one way the vaccine is here things will improve (!)
I am giving them figures and bits of info that I get off here daily and they usually just look at me thoughtfully and carry on as they were. One even said but why wouldn’t they test a vaccine/ they wouldn’t give it if it isn’t tested/ why would the government lie??? And so on. The Drs up to consultant level have shown no scepticism whatsoever and wear masks and talk about their children not mixing to avoid catching the virus etc etc... so depressing. .
In my experience my colleagues within the department are all believers of the complete lies we are being fed and are happy to wear the masks and even on occasion one staff member has said “hands, face, space” and “socially distance” to patients when they enter the dept. I cringe as it isn’t a very nice welcome is it?! .
Work is hard as the patients have to wear muzzles as well as us. I haven’t met one yet that admits to not believing the masks use. I don’t ask them I am subtle but I can gauge that they want them on. For e.g when I leave the curtain bay I will say (quietly) take your mask off when I’m gone as you won’t be near anybody but they don’t...
We have now been told at break times we are allowed to eat for 1( mins then must put the mask back on. These x2 30 min breaks on a 12 hour shift are unpaid. I refuse, I’ll eat my meals outside if needs be but nobody has challenged me so far. It goes from bad to worse, one way system on the floor like in shops signs ordering people where to go where to stand and this is 6 months after
I’m sorry I have digressed from your original question I just need to get it off my chest . I try to stay positive for the sake of my health and for my children’s sake but it is getting more difficult.
I don’t k ow why your brother in law will have changed.... just the constant brainwashing I’m guessing ..

My work has gone covid mad.literally obsessed. Covid boards. Covid memos ( to be signed when read) some other bullshit re only 6 in here 2 in here exact on and off of ppe ( just dare miss the sequence) patients encouraged with face nappies ( all dont bother) obsessive cleaning ( also signed for).funny thing is though when none of this was going on people were happy healthy and fun.now people are unhappy unhealthy and definately not fun. I would estimate that out of approx 30 5 are sceptics ( 3 converted) and 3 are in the balance so I will keep plugging away.how much more bull do they need to be convinced . I half comply as I have to but the message is clear you are being watched 😁. I take comfort in saying to myself that out of here I choose and I choose not to go along with the crap.

I work for the NHS in a technical capacity although not directly. I´m careful who I talk to as my views are not in line with the Government propaganda emails that go out to all NHS staff on a daily basis. Some people I meet are truly brainwashed and believe everything without question but some are quite sceptical. I am supposed to wear a mask "at all times", even in the work vehicles. I sometimes see members of staff alone in the car park wearing a mask.

A friend of mine, her son works for the NHS in some managerial role and he seems very brainwashed unfortunately which I think has an impact on the way she thinks also.
