Daily deaths and false positives

The problem of false positives is more often associated with cases and lock-down measures rather than the more significant parameter of deaths.
People may get a bit anxious as the daily deaths are going up. An increase is quite normal for this time of year, so no need to be anxious.
If covid is present, that could replace what would otherwise have been the cause of a death which would have happened anyway, so no need to be anxious.
However, the adverse side effects of anti-covid measures is that deaths caused due to neglect, lack of care etc are increasing. This will cause a greater increase than seasonally normal.
The concern here is that these excess deaths will be misattributed to covid through false positives rather than the results of anti-covid measures. This will give the impression that the false projections of increased covid deaths are coming true.
If this is not recognised, more of the same causes from anti-covid measures will be created, tending to continuously generate fatalities. It tends towards an endless cycle unless the authorities wise up.

Hi
well said, the only trouble is Whitless & Unbalanced will be wetting themselves with glee, and they will cancel Christmas!! I never used to believe in conspiracy theories, and always thought that this sort of thing only happens in other countries. I am shocked and appalled by what has happened particularly over the past couple of weeks. I went along reluctantly with the first lockdown for the first few weeks, then realised that it was causing more deaths and unhappiness than it was worth, but the incompetence and ineptitude of the recent past is mind numbing, I am very concerned about our country, there have been many rubicons crossed. There is something very sinister going on.
Best wishes keep up the good work

I've just submitted a complaint to the regional BBC about the reporting of increased numbers of 'cases' and how misleading this is. Told them what I thought of their attempt to ramp up fear.

Don't suppose they will take any notice but it does no harm to tell them what at least one person thinks of their reporting.
