Following on from what someone proposed on here a month or two ago. I've been thinking that large gatherings to sing Christmas carols as a form of protest/nice way to spread some Christmas cheer.
The problem with the brave protests that have taken place so far, is that the media spins it as a few conspiracy nuts protesting about vaccinations, 5G etc. Consequently, much of the population has little sympathy for the victims of a heavy-handed police force. I read the comments section of The Sun's article (don't worry, I don't get my news from there!) about yesterday's protest and although there were plenty of people on our side, there were also lots of ignorant fascistic comments about how protestors should be beaten, gassed etc. There was even one comment suggesting they be denied a vaccine, which seemed an odd punishment.
The police would surely be more reluctant to start brutalising a large crowd, peacefully singing Christmas carols. Even our media would struggle to present that as a proportionate response. Perhaps the population would be more likely to see the carolers/protestors as ordinary people and sympathise with their cause.
Perhaps we can try and get Toby's attention with this. I'll send him a message.
I think a Christmas Carol protest is a great idea. Keep me posted.

Perhaps we can re-write a few of the classics 😉
for lockdown protestors : Arrest you sceptic mental men
for those in hospital : The trolley and the IV
for everyone : In the bleak mid lockdown
for SAGE : what data is this?
for the press conferences with Boris, Whitty and Vallance : I saw three shits come flailing in
