Well I for one am going to purchase separate ovens so I can cook christmas dinner separately for each guest...a seperate table each with sterelized plates( disposable obviously) ect..covered the chairs with plastic.. hung perspex screens from the ceiling each one with a small hole to pass the brussel sprouts through..gloves goggles masks ( with a hole cut obviously so people can eat) at each place setting..no music no dancing . Ordered special covid christmas wrapping. No guest can open their presents for 72 hrs just in case...and a special surprise for Santa.. I bricked the chimney up..I think that should do it..
😀 😀 😀 😀
I would love to hear from others what special steps they have taken..
Boris and co would be so proud ..
😆 😆 😆

But of course there won't be mass disobedience. That's exactly why they do this - they know they will get away with it. We just don't have that mentality in Britain.

There cannot yet be any science they can point to to say the "new variant" is so lethal it needs these measures. If they were able to work it out that quickly then they should have dealt with the original version properly in March. Secondly it's still just a virus....it's not the Black Death.

I was incensed by Johnson's somewhat flippant and inane reaponses to the press questions earlier. He really has no sense of how to deal with the gravity of the situation. He still thinks he's a guest presenter on HIGNFY....well, Boris, that's your level old son. If he were playing sport they'd have him off for an HIA immediately.

And is he expecting some fawning gratitude from the servile public when he finally "leads us to victory"?

One suspects "victory" will simply be selling as many unused vaccine doses to other countries as we can manage.

I'm losing the will to continue even commenting on thi stuff now.

It is now 2315 on Saturday. I believe that the tier 4 rules for England come into effect in 45 minutes. I cannot see anything about them on legislation.gov.uk (nor any amendment to SI 2020 number 1374, the main tiers 1-2-3 regulations).

But make sure you obey the law, even though they are not letting you see what it is.

It is quite astonishing, for me, that they simply refuse to accept that none of these interventions actually work.

There is plenty of evidence from the past 10 months, not only from the UK, but also from around the world, that very little can be done to control a virus.

Yet they insist on carrying on with ever more stringent restrictions in the vain attempt at eliminating death.

At 2315 on 19 December I grumbled that the rules had not been promulgated 45 minutes before they were expected to come into effect. It turns out that I did our wonderful Government an injustice. The relevant statutory instrument (2020 number 1611) in fact came into force at 0700 on 20 December. And it was officially made at 0600 that day, a full hour before coming into force. I do not know exactly when it appeared on legislation.gov.uk but it was certainly there by 0745. So it is possible (but not certain) that both the citizen and the constable had an opportunity to become informed about the law just before it came into force.
