I feel nothing but utter utter despair now.
I cant believe the sheep are the majority.
I thought I was a minority. When I first visited LS, I saw the same graphics and numbers that I had produced myself. So now I am in a bigger minority (well, more than one anyway).
At the moment, I am parked having lunch in Essex on a 240 mile trip from Bristol to Suffolk. I have been sporting my garish lockdownsceptics banner in my rear window. I intend to put up more lockdownsceptics stickers when I arrive. There are other sceptics out there and those wanting a way out of this madness.
We just have to join up the dots, combine, coalesce, group together - the opposite of isolate. So I urge everyone to display something, somewhere to highlight dissent and non-compliance based on reason. It's futile just griping amongst ourselves.
Tougher and tougher restrictions will be implemented, travelling outside your local area very likely to be the next thing banned,
We're way ahead of you in Wales.
We had the "5 mile rule" after Lockdown v1 for months.
Then September "local restrictions" where it was banned (but completely unenforceable as people allowed to travel through an area, travel to work etc).
Then national lockdown v2 here where all travel was banned (Englands was not later tha month).
We're now in lockdown national v3 where again leaving house for exercise only.
Roughly, in the 9 months since this started, in Wales, 7 of those have been with local only or complete movement restrictions.
FWIW "local area only" is impossible for police to enforce as they dont and cant know whos local, who is legally passing through, who is legally working etc.
During our 5 mile and local only lockdowns most of us travelled freely wherever the hell we wanted with no issue.
Total ban we had roadblocks and many many checks.
A total ban is far easier to enforce -every vehicle is suspicious.
The real fear now is that the freedom from these new restrictions - and newer to come - will be vaccination.
"Get the vaccine and we let you out."
They ruled out mandatory or even coercive vaccination last week, but now, with these so-called "new strains", those pledges could be shredded.

Do they even have enough stocks of the vaccine to vaccinate the entire population? I understand they're concentrating on care home residents, oldiewonks, extremely vulnerable people, and R NHS for how.
I doubt that even with everyone vaccinated they'll relax restrictions. There's too many doomers and Karens enjoying their petty authority.

I fear yes. Not only are there too many people enjoying this, but a veritable industry has been set up around it, and dismantling it will cost lots of peoples there reason for being important. A bit like "the war on terror", it can and never will end. There will always be a new strain, a new variation, even a new virus.
The best we can do is try to restrict the most annoying aspects, like masks, so that intrusion into our personal lives is minimised.
I am really glad I do not have school-age children.
