fortunately Police in Wales don't carry side-arms yet. But Mark Drakeford might think about it when more and more people ignore his farcical regulations. N W Wales seems a bit like France - people are compliant and wary about anyone outside the localaity but scratching the surface few adhere to the letter of the law

There are so many closet skeptics. Had dinner with a friend who is one. Talked about if we all behaved masks ect and had several different households going for dinner over the course of a few weeks but cannot see the irony..

But what's all that got to do with lockdowns?

They had a COVID checkpoint at the provincial borders. They wanted me to fill out a form online to "register" to travel through New Brunswick... an action which is against the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

I was willing to fill out the form and everything, but when I tried to fill it out, it didn't work, it kept throwing error messages when I tried to submit it, even though I had entered all the information they were asking for.

I tried to tell the officer that and as someone who works in tech, I know this error probably won't be fixed until the next day so I offered to show him proof that I was a resident of Nova Scotia since I had actually brought the lease agreement for my apartment in case I would run into trouble like this travelling through provinces (so I was prepared). This is when he pulled the gun on me.

People here in wales have been stopped and fined. Let's see what happens here and keeping us posted on the canada situation would be good .Thanks

I am hearing somebody was shot and killed by police in Toronto for not wearing a mask. Not on the news yet, may be later.

I bet you a significant amount of money he was black... this is another element to it: Since the COVID lockdowns started, 60% of the violations issued in my city have been issued to people from the Afro-Canadian community, despite only making up 5% of the population of the city.

I mean, I'm a white upper middle class woman with a good job and a nice car, who donates to Canada's Liberal Party, the "model citizen" that the people in power pander to (as a result, I have power, though, so I have already lawyered up)... if they treat me like this, what are they doing to people who are poor? Black? Indigenous?

Well, if I was black or indigenous I probably wouldn't be posting this because the cop would have pulled the trigger.

I've also been intimidated into not filing a formal complaint, saying they will make it so I will lose my job and never work in the tech industry again.
